Dear Richard, It's a good idea, thanks for the suggestion. The main problem is the work required to keep it current. To pay for the work, we need some of the dealers to take a paid advert. "Coin Dealers Directory" was designed, created, and run using my own time and money. It cost about £1000 worth of time to create and maintain during its first year. Strangely enough, non of the dealers who we e-mailed to invite them to advertise have replied. I find this surprising as they, dealers with a website our e-mail address, are the ones who should benefit most. So far, I have been too busy, working about an 80 hour week, to send a "snail-mail" letter to the rest. Because of the lack of response, I have placed a "sponsored by" advert on each of the regional pages. When the other dealers wake up to the number of enquiries they are missing, I expect them to contact us. If it requires a lot of effort to sell our excellent advertising space, we will would need to increase our charges to pay for the selling effort. Dear Glenn, Thanks for your comments. Some of our listings do have e-mail addresses, we counted 16 listed, however where dealers do not have an e-mail address it is rather difficult for us to list it! Also some businesses, not just coin dealers prefer not to list their e-mail addresses, newspapers for example. If you can tell us a more complete source of UK coin dealers address, telephone, and othe details please let us know, and if you wish to provide one, free of charge, in your own time, we will be favourably impressed, even if there are people out there who would expect you to pay them to use your free service!
